In the modern era we live in, we’re all kind of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde, two split personalities – one that goes to work, and another one, that we become after the work is done. There are not so many people that can truly say that they do what they love, and even they have to conform in a way in order to blend in and look properly on their jobs. Many of us don’t ever dress up as we do when we are working, and getting started can be exceptionally frustrating. So, what can you do?
Image – for some people and some types of jobs – looks is as important as skill. Business people and employees in such companies, especially large ones can vouch for that. The right clothes and shoes can mean a difference between a good and bad job or no job at all. Having a preset image of what message you want to convey and what impression you want to leave is a must. Dress to impress, to put it short. Your style will change here, and the point is to blend in while you still stand out. This might be difficult, since it is a little confusing and not entirely honest. You will want to look like everybody else, in order to adept to the environment but you will also want to stay unique in those boundaries so you can be noticed.
First impression – make sure that you always leave a good impression. Especially if you work with people, in big companies or service industry. In big companies – contacts are everything and reputation is even more important. You will make your life so much easier if you dress right since it is the first step in making people getting to know, trust and love you. If you are working in the service industries, I don’t even need to tell you how important the first impression is. If you are working for tips – dressing right, along with a good attitude is your best weapon.
Shoes – women love shoes, that is a known fact, but the shoes are an important part of business appearance for everyone. For ladies – the advice is to stay away from high heels. They may look great but in a long run, they will cause more troubles than they do good. If you haven’t figured it out yet on your own – high heels cause back pains, feet sores and all kinds of problems with legs. What you can do if you simply can’t live without heels is wearing shoes that have smaller heel to minimize the effect or only wear them in certain occasions or times. For gentlemen – even if you don’t care much about shoes, you need to, at least a little bit. One of the first impressions conveyed on the first glance will be the shoe you are wearing. It is said that ladies will show staggering 80% less interest in guys with dirty shoes without even thinking about it, so think about that.
This is a website that I like that has stylish work clothing at very reasonable prices. Take a look and see if you agree.
